2 new sony cams. check it out

They listened a lot to us, cudos to them. Its a shame the new 350 doesn't support more than 35Mbps native though.

My only question now is the price of the PMW350 with/without lens.

From the Sony site:

As usual the pictures were very good. Under tungsten lighting some black fabrics on occasion had a tendency to look a little red with the original EX1. The EX1R has a new optical filter that minimises near infra-red contamination.

This is big! I think I'll have to trade up. I also need to return the 8 32GB cards I just bought for the price of another EX1.

I just changed my mind about getting the EX3, now I'd like to order the EX1R. But now I need to wait for their "early December" launch. The Sony press release states $7,709, hopefully that translates to the current $6,099 price again... VERY excited about the new changes!

With the EX1 the image will probably be identical as it is meant to have the same sensor, however the EX1R may not require the T1 or 486 filter as Sony have meant to have improved I/Near Red filtering.

My question to Sony is this: If the near red contamination of the EX1/EX3 is a feature, not a problem, as Sony have claimed through reputable channels, then why does the EX1R not have the same response? Why fix something unless it is a fault?

All EX1s & 3s should be able to have a new filter wheel installed (same as in the EX1R) to fix this issue for good in these cameras. This should be a recall action and not be effected by warranty status of a camera.
