C100: 2 equipment wishes for the C100.

So this week was my first week using my new C100 in the trenches filming a doc. Two things I immediately felt I needed?

1. A Sunhood for the LCD. I have an AC7 Monitor and a sunhood for that, but the C100 excels when you strip it down for run and gun shooting. The C100 LCD is solid, neither great or bad, but I definitely need a sunhood for it.

2. An Extender Eye Piece for the EVF. I don't think the EVF is as bad as everyone says it is. What's bad is that it's flush with the back of the camera.

What additional equipment do you think the Canon C100 needs?

By the way, I was blown away by the sharpness and detail I found in the wide angle shots I took. Finally, with this camera I can "go wide" and not worry about soft shots.

I'm very happy with this cam and I feel that just by buying it, it's made me a better filmmaker.
 
Zacuto Z-Finder.

But: It's not yet available! Though it appears they have missed 2 published ship dates already so I think it's time to look around for something else.

I'm waiting for it too but they are taking too long to produce. I will look for other quality product in the market if there are any now.
 
Looks like Zacuto are announcing the C100 Z-Finder at NAB... no word on when the release date will be but hopefully they will commit to shipping soon:

I can testify that round ridged SmallHD DP4 solution is a great one. It makes the EVF so much more usable, blocks out the light, and gives you a good deal more range. At $30 it is a steal.IMG_1021.jpg
