1st time shooting with my DVX100a

Hey guys,

I am not like 99% of you amazing filmmakers on this board. I always read about people "just picking up the camera" and playing with it to learn. I like to read as much as possible and study your techniques and try to be ultra prepared for when I'm ready. I read Barry's book and watched the video and FINALLY got the camera (of which I'm a little scared of) and got my little girls to do some posing yesterday. I applied all of the settings I have read about here. Squeeze mode, 24p, I fooled with the ND filters, the AWB and Shutter speed, and tried some shots Barry talks about in his book too. So here is the finished product.....keep in mind this is the first time I have used the DVX100a although I am not a total beginner to filmmaking. Let me know what you guys think: http://www.vimeo.com/3746649

That was terrible.

Terribly good, that is!
Very attractive footage...why?
Because you did your homework.
You methodology is a winning one.
You have started out good and will only get better with an attitude like yours.
Please post more.
~Cheers!

Thank you guys!!

Thank you guys!!

I appreciate the little feedback I got here it's cool you take the time to respond. I really learn a lot from you guys....thanks again.

cute girls..nice footy. U could lose the checkerd looking transition, it takes away from an otherwise nice thing. I liked the flash transition thingys :)...whatever u call that

Must feel good to them to be stars :) Keep doin ur thing.

the "image" at 01:11 was probably the best I think. Very nice light :)

It was nice for your first try, and good that you read Barry's book. Then it sounds like you take it a bit seriously.. which is great!

Good luck with your future shorts, musicvideos or whatever you might want to make! :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Thumbs up!
