1st Music Video Please Critique

Why was a Man dressing another Man the whole video? Then you see this guy wearing super tight pants?

lol@ life4eva . well fashion is...fashion, so I wont go there. But the edit man. The edit it not going with the song. needs to be edited faster with cuts to the song. J.mula's part is one LONG shot. Rethink the edit and really listen to teh song and the beat and cut to the feel of the song. With a better edit this can be salvaged. Oh and your tripod is jerky. Dont cut off dudes feet in the Full shot with him on the porch. Shots against the brick wall...try not to shoot straight on in front of the wall...use the lines of the wall and also the texture of the bricks and grittiness of the wall. I like that font you used.

Thanks alot guys for the comments , everything you said made alot of sense.. I know I wasnt cutting to the music well enough, Im using Premiere Pro CS5. Do you guys put the whole clip into the timeline then just start chopping? The video was shot on a Plantation from the 1800's about 30min outside of New Orleans. You think I was using enough fadins-fadeouts? How about color-grading? Im going to work on framing this weekend... Give me more feedback
 
Has nothing to do with fade ins or color grading, more like the video makes no sense to me. What Jambredz was referring to is listen to the kicks, snares etc. of the song and make your cuts on that. It's not a general rule but it makes sense to make your cuts faster/slower depending on the instrumentation of the song.
 
I see what your saying I was more focused on following the words of the song more than anything. Was there anything else I could have added to make it a better video?
 
Yeah u def need to cut more to the beat, being that you had only a couple of locations.. you should have used alot more of that location so that you have more footage to work with to make it alot more fast paced.. most people hate to look at the same clip for more than 3 to 4 seconds.. go to youtube and look at some videos and count the seconds in between the cuts and you'll see exactly what I'm saying.. Nice track though!!!
 
I think the issue is more in pre shoot. You need to listen to the song and create a concept, style and shots that will help you achieve those things. It does seem a little more like an off the cuff style shoot - where here so lets shoot something kind of thing.
