1st Birthday Party: T2i with Cinestyle

Here is a short of my sister-in-law's daughter's birthday party.

This was shot on my 550D with a 35mm Lens between f/2.0 and 5.6, ISO100.

I used MarvelsFilm Cine Style setting to give a flatter, cinema look and warmed it up. I cut it in FCP with no color correction.

Enjoy.

I've done that so many times... E-Mails without attachments, oh the humor. lol

On a more serious note, loved the footage. Looks very crisp, but the T2i footage I have seen shows without a shadow of a doubt that it's near impossible to use this thing without a stabilization rig. Irks me to no end... But beautiful footage none-the-less.

If you check out cheesycam.com, the writer has a couple articles about stabilization with the T2i. I'm going to try out cutting up a monopod to sit at the hip and see how that goes.

I really liked the tour footage. Can anybody help me with getting the focus like that example? I don't always want shallow DOF, sometimes I want the all-in-focus look as well but I don't know how to achieve that with my 550D and Kit lens.

You'll want to stop-down your aperture bring more into focus. I usually shoot at 5.6 on my 35mm since it's really sensitive at 2.0.

I would suggest checking out sites such as http://digital-photography-school.com or just google articles about ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speeds. Shutter speeds don't matter much with video other than brightness(to my knowledge) but most photography terms help out a lot when doing video with dslr's.
