1DC: 1DC C Log - Can't autofocus?

Am I crazy or can you not autofocus in Canon Log? I have my 1DC set to back button focus only (depressing the shutter halfway does nothing) but I swear I could AF before...? I rarely shoot log because of the gorgeous images I get straight out of this beast with picture profiles, but the AF icons on the info screen are greyed out in log... Thoughts?

Also a shameless plug for 1dx / 1dc / 1dxM2 video users - the 1dc blog is coming soon to address all the challenges of shooting with this cam, DM me to be added to the list. Coming soon... (Though in no way meant to detract from this wonderful community.)

You cannot AF in 4K, S35 AND any mode with C-Log enabled...

This is understandable though, first time collaboration between DSLR and Cinema department.

Interesting - with back button only, I CAN AF in S35 and 4K withOUT C-Log. Could it be my older firmware? (1.2) Would they have removed that ability in later firmware updates?

Since the 1DC is still just using contrast based Auto Focus and no Dual Pixel like the rest of the C-Series, I assume when you are in Log (which dramatically reduces contrast) Canon was unable to get a reliable enough auto-focus implemented and therefore removed it.
