acting is very important to filmmaking. It's not photography after all, its story, and without characters to hold up the story, no one cares. Don't ever underestimate acting, actors hold the strongest production value. Had your film been well acted, i think that alone would have brought it into another league.
Me thinks someone needs to catch up on their film history. The acting style was deliberate as a throw back to old school stuff. The overexagerations, the sort of dim witted goons. The smaller but snappier boss.
It was all intentional, go watch a half a dozen of those classics and then come back and comment once you have a better foundation.
Kholi - I was pretty much just commenting on how some of the comments were detracting from the work basically by missing the point. Now i totally understand if they have issues with various points after all nothing is perfect, (i know that all to well), but its tough to see criticisms flying without understanding the context of the work.
Wow. Awesome production design.
speaking of which, how did you guys get the amazing locations? I am absolutely beside myself as to how you guys either got access, or built this? Please give us some yummy details!
Great project, great effort, worth the watch for sure and I definitely wanted to post and say "good show".
I think it could be a bit shorter, tighter cuts. I say this because a lot of the moments are drawn out in what seems to be an unnecessary fashion. They don't really enhance tension, and I think I spy comedic beats but they aren't really selling right now.
It really hits home when I get to the end and realize there's a punchline. It's actually a good punchline, but maybe it's not setup well enough to warrant the total runtime?
Food for thought, anyway.
I don't really comment on too many shorts and such, this one was well worth taking the time out.
