16 second long blooper clip with DOF

thats kinda funny because I've had it happen to my actors soo many times. As for the look, it is pretty cool...I don't know what was going on but the actor looked pretty ackward just standing there

looks real good!
i noticed on your pics that you guys put yellow tape on the viewfinder...i think. was that so you could frame your shots in 16x9 and shoot 4x3? then just change it in post so you don't lose resolution>? because that sounds like a good idea to me!

yep that's exactly why the screen was taped like that...... The shot was achieved with a 100% stock DVX with a strong zoom.

Justin, LOL! I've been dying to get a decent shot like this off! Can't wait to finish editing so you guys can see the entire flick... We got some GREAT DOF scenes...... I can't even imaging filming with the two DOF adapters that are out there.

when i get my demo reel onto dvd, i'll put a music video i shot on here. plenty of DOF shots that look great with the stock DVX lens. i brought up the chroma and had some high shutter speed going too....looks a lot like 16mm. can't wait to show you.

and no, my DOF shots were not done in Photoshop, thank effin' gah.

love it man, looks really nice... i should know since I lit the mofo... :)
And Bill was damn serious about "what do you want me to say?" too funny...

I cant wait till you edit it!

Lighting looks cool. Did you guys use mainly one light?
In that shot there were 2 lowell lights (500 watts each) shining through the door (hard to see from this image)
one 90 watt backlight
and one 150 watt key

can't get much by you these days Justin LOL

Im still kind of lost how you did the lighting.

nice diagrams... mine are going to be worse...

I'll try and explain
see that light in the bg (backgorund) underneath Bills face lower right
thats the 500 watt lowells shinging through an open door...
the slight detail on Bills left cheek (right of image) is the backlight... adding a bit of detail to the face but still keeping the contrast high
and finally the key which you had correctly in your image...
i hope this helps..
