16 gig cards next summer

Thanks for the answer -- great camera! I had a difficult time making the change (probably more emotionally than anything else). Absolutely loved it and have often wished I kept it along with the HVX. The one thing I could always do better (other than painless extended shots) was hand held. I probably need more practice but I simply can not do hand held shots with the HVX like I could with the DVX.

How much heavier is it?

I know even with the DVX, going hand held for long periods of time can be painful, especially with lights and other on-camera accessories. That's why if I buy an HVX with a Firestore, I'm gonna hook that sucker up to my belt. If I get the Cineporter, I may have a bad weight issue when going hand held for too long.

The HVX200 is about two pounds heavier and it really makes a difference. In fact, it's more of a difference than one would think, even when we aren't talking handheld. When I try to raise the tripod with the camera still attatched (yes I know it's bad protocal but sometimes you're short on time), it definatly is much more a pain with the HVX200, even though I'm already using pretty sizible heads (Cartoni Laser).

The advantages of the DVX100 are that it has better low light performance, 1 stop more sensativity, and is lighter.

By the way, they're now offering a free 8 giger with the camera.
