This may be the perfect GH1 lens for me. It's in fact a Zeiss lens, it has OIS, and AF and AE are controlled from the GH1; AF only by pushing shutter button, not AFC, which is fantastic. It only requires the Panasonic MFT/FT adapter. The main reason for my interest in this lens is that it looks as if manual focussing is repeatable, in other words, the focus ring connects to the focus mechanism directly so it can be used with a follow focus system. But I am not sure... can anybody confirm this?

I don't know if my answer is good but, I have the 14-50 f2.8-3.5 witch appear to be in the same generation ( I think?) and the focus ring doesn't move anything if the camera isn't on. I don,t know if that's what you wanna know, but this isn't a ring that directly connect to a lens. I think people call this type of focusing fly by wire (again, correct me if I'm wrong)

Hi Rabot,

Yes that's exactly what I meant and yes when it's like that, it's electronic, also called servo or fly by wire. Really a pitty because all other specs for these lenses are great. I may still get the 14-50 f2.8-3.5 (same as you) though, I didn't know about this 14-50 version that's why I first was looking at the 14-150. Do OIS and AF work in combination with the GH1?

AF doesn't work on any mode. (can be confirmed on the JP panasonic website)
Ois seem to work as the icon appear but I can't really confirm is the effect is really there.

I did manage to get pretty blurless picture at like 1/15, without flash or anything, but I guess not shaking is also something else to take in account.

Otherwise the quality of the lens did impress me (I'm no lens scientific or anything, it's maybe the 7th or 8th lens I've owned.). Something that I really like is the fact that that is focus way closer than the kit lens, witch is fun to have witch such a wide end lens.

I'm glad I got this instead of the kit lens now.

(why use autofocus anyway if it breaks the codec... )
