14-140 manual focus speed

I have recently acquired a GH2, and am working through the features and manual, and doing test shoots. Manually focusing the kit 14-140 zoom is agonizingly slow. Perhaps I've missed something, perhaps doing something wrong, but is it possible to adjust the manual focus system that from close focus to infinity takes 1/2 a turn or 3/4 of a turn (like a manual lens) rather than 3 or 4 turns (or so it seems)? Thanks for any advice.

That being said, the camera is indeed a gem.

unless someone in pana decides to update the lens firmware i say no. i too would love to have the feel of a manual lens also
 
I don't have this lens, but I have read focusing manually is speed sensitive. Have you tried fast turning of the focusing ring to see if the focus changes with speed of turning?
