GH4 12mm f2.0 fast lens for gh4

I have the same one ordered.
Hasn´t made it here yet, but I payed a lot more than I wished. Lens price + 96eur import + 20% customs pay.

I have spent 1100 euros on two lenses and today I discovered that the 12-35mm now has a 200 euro discount and costs 999 euros in my local shop.
Oh well..

I now have the Rokinon and I also have the Summilux 25mm. In terms of optics and features the Summilux wins hands down. Better at dark (F1.4 vs F2.0), Smoother focus ring (personal preference), Better picture (No lens flare etc. and great colors!) , Constant AF (I don´t use it but its nice to have.)

But in terms of Focal length I prefer the Rokinon. Summilux 25mm is just too claustrophobic for me if used all the time.
In the end its all about preference, but one suggestion what seems to be true with lenses is that the more you pay, the better the build quality and optics.

Oh , and also MFT rumors site says that Panasonic will make 12mm F1.2 lens WITH IMAGE STABILISATION. Gonna keep an eye for this one.

...Panasonic will make 12mm F1.2 lens WITH IMAGE STABILISATION...
This is definitely on my wish list but in the mean time I may have to pick up the Oly 12mm f/2. I currently have the Oly 17mm f/1.8. It's a great lens in nearly every way, but just not quite wide enough with the 4K UHD crop of 2.49x.

Cheers,
Pete

What about this lens? Should match well with the 25mm and 15mm is pretty wide. Not as wide as 12mm of course but much wider than 25mm and a bit wider than 17mm. I also really need to get a fast wide lens and I keep bouncing back and forth between the Rokinon 12mm, Olympus 12mm or this 15mm. The 15mm should have good optics, is a tiny bit faster but still pretty wide.

I really do hope Panasonic decides to move stabilization to the body for the GH5. This would make lenses like the Rokinon even more attractive.

No, I'm not looking for a lens that leaves a full circle of vignetting if that's what you mean. Just looking for http://www.vcefile.com/
something that has a bit more distortion than the two lenses I mentioned earlier. Those seem to be the go-to lenses for the GH series fisheyes, but since the crop factor is 2x on the gh3 they're just really not wide enough for my taste.

Just spent almost two weeks shooting stills primarily on the PanaLeica 15mm f/1.7, & 25mm f/1.4, plus a bit on the 12-35mm f/2.8. The commercial is destined for broadcast & I choose the GH4 for it's ability to natively frame 16x9. Considered Sony's A7 series but the lack of fast autofocusing primes deterred me.

Also had the Olympus 12mm f/2 in the bag but for aesthetic purposes stuck with the 15mm & 25mm focal lengths (the zoom was mostly used when the rain was truly pouring down). There was another DP shooting an Amira with 18mm & 32mm lenses. We agreed getting back to this discipline was both interesting & fun.

Always thought Olympus' 12mm f/2 lens was a fine optic but the Summilux(s) seems to have a bit more going on. Perhaps it's the faster apertures, or maybe it's just that I've never shot so many stills on any m4/3 primes, but there are numerous images that just pop much more than I've gotten out of the GH series before.

Bought it.

Whenever practical I purchase & charge rental fees. Like most professionals I typically make a bit of profit off workhorse gear.
