This is a video about the event that'll take place next year.
It's about the 125th anniversary of automobiles.
There'll be a rally, a city race and an expo of car's future.

Fully shot on the 550D/7d with nikons:

Great job! Good to finally see some improvement of quality here in Germany.
If you ever need any help, drop me a line.

Didn't understand a word of it, but I didn't need to, very well done. Quite the car collection.

How long did it take to shot this and what kind of camera support did you use?

Great job.

thanks for all the positive Feedback!

i used an image stabilized 24 - 105 (4.0) Canon lens for the
cartocar shots, IS was very important! we didn't use any smoothcam
or other filters in post, i guess for some shots it would have been nice,
but render times and a tight schedule…

other lenses used:
Nikon 24-85mm (2.8-4.0) with a novoflex adapter
Nikon 80-200mm (2.8) with a novoflex adapter
Sigma 18-200mm IS

im goin to post some shots of my self-made shoulder-rig later.
Ive built it for all the 35mm adapters, but works with slrs too.
We added about 4-5kg of counterbalance.
One of the most important things, when working with a light HDSLR,
is to add as much weight as possible. I cant stand those jittery images.
i love the smooth motion when eg. shooting with a super heavy red.
Also a lot of the car to car scenes where handheld, the heavy rig was very helpful.

For the Interview Shots we set up a straight track and a dolly.
While the dolly move we panned the Libec LS38 tripod.
The Results were pretty bad. but i had to push the dolly and do the panning at once.
We recorded the sound for the Interviews with a Zoom H4N recorder.

Ive edited in FCP. I didn't transcoded to prores, it was too much footage,
because of all the cartocar stuff. So ive edited the h264 files natively.
fcp crashed sometimes, but it was acceptable.
to still get a smooth preview, i rendered the files inside fcp.
I used the basic 3 way color corrector.

Im goin to switch to a hacked GH1 for my next project.
I cant stand all the nasty compression artifacts and the blurred picture.
Doesn't look like 1080p to me. more like 480p.
Had a lot of fun with the canons tho.

Right now im looking for camerajobs, leave me a message
if you are interested in working together!
