Can the 7Q do 120fps continuous slow modtion recording in 4K - or just burst mode? is it because the FS700 can only
do burst mode?

120fps 4K is not recorded in real time but is offloaded from FS700 internal cache in 50/60fps stream (or 24/25p, do not remember).

I think the only way to get 120fps 4K is from an FS700 and it an only do bursts of 440 frames which it buffers internally and then reads out at 60fps. So I think the 7Q may be limited to recording 60fps 4K though perhaps that is partly because no camera can send live 120fps 4K over SDI?

The format of 4K RAW Sony uses on the FS700 and the new FS5 can only fit up to 4K60p through the camera's SDI portal. So the S700 (and FS5) have to send the video into a memory buffer that then outputs in slow motion the 4K 120p signal.

Fs700 shoots at a 4 second max buffer in 4k (440frames), but can shoot continuously at 2k which looks great imo.

This sounds bad but the fact the fs700 has an end triggering mode really alleviates this problem for most slow mo scenarios.
