J J_E_R Member Aug 21, 2007 #1 What is the difference in drive space required between DVCPRO HD 1080p (after Advanced pulldown) vs 720Pn? Also, is FW800 okay to edit 1080P with -- G-RAID2, Lacie etc?? Thanks.

TimurCivan Director of Photography Staff member Aug 21, 2007 #2 fw800 works best but you need a graphics card/ cpu fast enough to decode dvcprohd100 (1080i/p and 720-60P) in realtime. dvcprohd100 is 1 gig perminute of footage, 720pn is 2.5min per gig.

dregenthal Veteran Aug 21, 2007 #3 TimurCivan is absolutely correct regarding your graphics card. I've been using G-Raid2's/FW800 (in addition to an Medea RT3) without complaint. My next G-Tech purchase will be one of their "G-SATA" external drives . . . even faster.
