it + s = its

Just sayin...

There wasn't any flaming going on... I was just explaining why Rodrigo made the post he did and I'm sure it has all been clarified. I have nothing against Shannon at all (except that he owns an XL H1).

(kidding) :)

You know, I'm actually quite impressed with the XL-H1. Haven't been a fan of HDV at all, but the H1 puts off a nice image.

That being said... sure wish the HVX shipments would hurry up. ;)

.

for the record, i was just joking around obviously.
i'm itchin to get my hands on an XLH1 - I haven't had the chance to check it out yet but everyone who has seems to be really impressed.

I never quite got this 1080p "over" 60i either until a nice guy at the Panasonic booth explained it to me. First of all, I didn't realize anyone had invented any 1080p cameras to begin with (the F900 is a 1080i camera). The HVX is definitely a "1080p" camera. But there are no (standard) "1080p" recording formats so the camera HAS to encode an interlaced signal. The statement, "1080p over 60i" finally made sense to me when he explained that it's two interlaced fields made up of two IDENTICAL fields (hence, the "progressive" nomenclature).

1080P over 1080/60i is probably done in HVX but with other "Interlaced "recording cams you can do it in post. Have a look what does it mean in a description below when use Apple Shake to achieve de-interlacing or from interlaced to make progressive. From i to P or p.
