100A Horizontal line

My DVX100A shows a horizontal line in the lower third when panning at moderate speed and faster. Any clues?
Also, both zoom rockers do not stat smoothly no matter how gently I try to start the zoom.

Anything I can do myself on these two issues? I'm mechanically adept if disassembly and cleaning are the answer.

For the zoom dissembling and cleaning is generally the answer...It is a very complex cam though. Panny has some break away diagrams on their site that might help you although it looks like you could quickly end up with a 100 camera pieces and no camera not knowing how to put it back. Can you show fottage of the line in lower third on you tube?
