$10 right-angle audio adapter for GH1

I found this at Calumet yesterday and thought I'd share it. It's sold as a 2.5mm to 3.5mm Remote Control adapter for Canon, but I was able to try it in the store and verify that it does work just fine as an audio adapter for the GH1.

No more Radio Shack adapter sticking a mile out of the camera body!

The back of the package says that it's "For use with the Four-Channel Universal Radio DSLR Camera Trigger Kit (CF0060) and the DSLR camera cable release (CF0076)", so I searched for the CF0060 and found it listed as an accessory: http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/CF0063/

If this works, I likey. Nice find. The short cable is a nice touch, since it should mean less stress on the port compared to a standard right angle adapter and definitely compared to a straight adapter.

I just did a quick comparison of the Calumet adapter vs. the Radio Shack adapter with both stereo and mono mics.

Both adapters were identical in terms of sound:

Stereo mic = stereo sound
Mono mic = Sound on R channel only
