10 Crack Commandments

Thanks for the kudos Jack. Yeah this is a chance we are taking when there is no real main characters. We get right in to the grit and right out again. The transitions are going to be a page turning from an animated book since the 10 Crack Commandments is supposed to be like a manual on the 10 rules of dealing crack. We have some pretty cool montages where we integrated slow motion, timelapse, and stop action in one drug scene. Should be interesting if the rest of the movie sucks. :)

Seems Fox/Searchlight is interested in this after seeing the teaser. Fingers crossed.
Also turned down an offer for a buy out from an independent group that shall remain unnamed.

I sense another DVXuser member movie being sold and distributed by a MAJOR real soon! :D

Will check the teaser out tonight or tomorrow night at home :)

We are hoping. :) I correct myself and say we didn't turn down the offer yet. They also offered us some other "incentives" that are very sweet and would keep us going for a while.
Brandon, just be aware of the language when you watch. Not work safe.

Long time, DVXfriends.

Dont jinx us, Spike.

Jack, thanks for the comments and interesting story observations. We could never put a finger on it as you have, but I remember Spike and me thinking "how has this idea not been done yet for this story?"

This is one of the most unique films we've shot in terms of its structure, cast, environment, and most importantly our approach to filming it. Its one of the reasons why we starting filming in October and are only now wrapping up principle photography. We definitely tried to give Steven's story/idea the cinematic approach that it deserved, rather than let the subject matter/setting alone hook this niche audience. However, trying to achieve these standards in the places we've been shooting, with real people, and with our legal hands tied poses some serious hurdles. Just hopin to make a good film overall, and glad to see light at the end of the tunnel.

We appreciate all the comments. BTW, if anyone (or someone you know) is purchasing blanket insurance for a period where they wont be using every day and would like to make a deal with us, please PM myself or Spike (Beat Takeshi). For NYC.

And Jack, I know I still owe you some El Pollo Loco.

BTS story#022: Some crazy dude said he was gonna "go up to his crib and get the cold steel" and that that I would find out whats up. All in response to me moving the RED too close to him. (I played it off like I wasnt shook. Then, I tattled to my producer who grew up in those projects) :crybaby:

Finally had a chance to watch the teaser... pretty rough :D But, the film looks good, genuine, and well shot. I look forward to seeing more, and hopefully the whole film soon as well :)

Thanks. We are waiting for confirmation of one last character for the movie. A well known R&B singer saw the teaser and loved it. We just sent him the script and waiting for a reply. When its confirmed we will let you know whats up.

Congrats, hope they get on board...but I have to throw out two guesses...

Al B. Sure! or some New Jack City connects with Christopher Williams :)

Whoever, I hope you pull them and they've got ties to Biggie's publisher so y'all get a good deal on licensing the song :)

Nah, hes actually hot right now with 2 songs out. Fingers still crossed on it. Also have a well known hip hop magazine doing a small piece on the film. Will let you know whats up with that too.

As of now we are going to have a screening at SVAs theater on 23rd st. When? We are hoping by early to mid summer. After that we are going to try the film fest circuit. We got another big studio interested but they want to see the final also. The singer we were able to cast is Trey Songz but hes on tour so hopefully we can get it in during a lull but if not we will go with a back up person.

Trey songz would be a nice grab. He is really hot right now. I hope it works out for you!! I can't wait to see this. Did Diddy Co-sign? You have to have the song in the movie.

No co-sign but we did just get another offer for the film which includes getting the rights to the song. Yeah, I hope that our schedules work out cause that would be pimp to get him in. If anything he has offered songs for the movie.
