C100: 10-18mm IS for Ronin

How is the IS on this guy for video. How is the image quality? If Ronin stabilizes yaw/rotation/pitch and IS translation this should give a really wide stable image? Thinking of buying one.

Still waiting to see if the 18-35mm Sigma will work with a C100 on the Ronin M.

I use mine with a 1Dc and 16-35 f4 without issues. It won't be a question about weight, but more about balance.

Oh my god that rig is hot. How do you like the Ronin M so far? Do you think it would fit a C100... I am so wishing for that set up right now, but only have the C100.

How is the stabilization? I'd imagine it complements the Ronin well as it covers the additional axes.

It looks like the Tokina:

Beats out the Canon:

For Master Prime style sun stars:

But I wonder if I can comp in enhanced sun stars. The motion would probably be closer to a steadicam with IS I'm guessing. And the price is so right. And the sharpness probably Master Prime level more so than the Tokina at least...

Nothing wrong with the C100!

I really like the Ronin M for the price. It's a polished unit that feels high end. It works as advertised and I'm able to balance the setup in the image above perfectly. But in order to do so I have to position the camera at the very bottom of the tilt cage rods. While I appreciate that DJI managed to cut the weight in half, I think they designed the unit just a little too small. There are a number of cameras that will be marginal in terms of physical size that otherwise would be no problem for the gimbal. We're talking a few missing mm here and there.

The app works well and is easy to understand. The only thing is: the app always finds and connects to the Ronin M immediately, but once it has been exited or put to sleep it can't reconnect without starting the app new.

Performance itself is great for me. No issues with vibrations or jerkiness. You do want to use the lens support for this.

The only real thing that I'm not happy about is that they omit the monitor clamp. That should be in there. I'll put my SmallHD AC7 on the bars once I get hold of a suitable clamp.

I hear the C100 fits if you remove the viewfinder, but haven't tested myself.

Regarding IS: I personally shut IS off for moving shots (my typical scenario) since the IS otherwise grabs hold of the image and prevents smoothness. Just like with tripod panning use. If you want to use the gimbal as a handheld "tripod" for a static shot, then I'm sure that is possible with IS.
