1 question: will p2 work with vista?

Interested in anyone replying that it is actually working for them with vista. I've had no luck.

I don't use Windows however I did a quick Google search and came across this page: http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/

On this page it references a specific driver needed for 64 bit Vista. You can download that driver from that same page.

I don't know if you have already tried this but if not it's worth a shot.

Yes, saw that too and tried it. Then saw my computer is 32 bit so tried that driver also. So question still open to anybody out there using vista successfully. Seems it would be a major topic for p2 workflow since about every laptop I looked at comes with Vista.

Thanks,
Mike the mac guy trying to cross over for p2 workflow

I don't have an HVX anymore, but I injested P2 cards with Vista when I did. I can verify the drivers work fine.

What exactly is your problem? Maybe if you asked a question about it you'd get a more helpful response. I really don't get what you want to know so far.

I use Vista an P2 on my laptop and desktops with no issues at all. I use the Adobe CS3 package with them. Also have P2 viewer installed with no issues. I think what you want to know is if you can ingest p2 cards through the pcmia slot or express card slot with an adapter using Vista and the answer is yes. The drivers will install, it just may take a little time to figure it out at first.

Cassius, I don't have a problem. I simply asked if anyone is currently using it. You answered that you had used it in the past. thank you sir. I asked for one additional reply from a CURRENT user before I spend the cash for Windows xp. ok?

BUMP - My new laptop is Vista - I have an Expresscard to Cardbus adpapter.

I have installed drivers (that I can find) and can see my P2 via camera - but not via Adapter Vista just says needs driver.

Any assistance appreciated. I've got all this working before on XP but can't recall every step I had to take.

I had a hard time with it and could never get a clear answer. See my floundering earlier in thread. Was told to use Windows XP. Later found out from Panasonic that it wouldn't work with Home Premium so i updated to Vista business at much expense. Finally got the p2 card to be recognized so I could drag things off to a hard drive; but could never get the other program to work; the one that shows the thumbnails and has the ingest. If you do get things working, please post here detailed instructions of what you did and which version of vista you have.

Thanks all - I just came back here to post that I had sorted it.

When Windows is complaining that it can't find the driver what you need to do is point it at the Program_files/Panasonic/Driver folder and it finds what it needs, asks for confirmation and then installs it.

Thanks anyway.
