1:1.7 20 mm pancake questions

I got the pancake 20 mm lens. Strangely it behaves differently than my 14-140 mm stock lens in the manual focus mode:

in AFS it behaves as if in AFC
in AFS I can not use the manual focus ring even though AF/MF is activated

Does anybody else have this problem and know if its regular behaviour?

I'll doublecheck in a couple of hours. I usually use it either on full auto or full manual, so I never evne considered the "hybrid" approach.
Still - I loves the darn lens :-D

AF-S doesn't work in video mode on the GH1...it's the same with the kit lens. p.104

AF+MF doesn't work in video mode on the GH1. p.128
