"1.09" firmware? Hoax or ?

There are reports/rumors of a "1.0.9" version of the 7D firmware:

Most (all?) 7D cams ship with version 1.0.7 installed.

Is "1.0.9" a hoax? Localization? New/fixed features? Hmm ...

Even if it is it would be a godsend because it would make porting the Magic Lantern firmware much easier for the coders

Hopefully it is an actually new firmware as Tramm has said that will be the easiest way of getting moving on ML for the 7D.

Could be, but I don't know that Canon needs any help moving these yet, they will be selling like hotcakes. They are probably just fixing troubles so far if true.
