••7D Awesome Recipes for Awesomeness?••

I was wondering if there are any sure recipes to follow when it comes to settings for the camera.

What are some of the options you guys are turning on or off when you shoot with manual lenses?

Anything special if you are shooting nightime versus daytime?

Would be interesting to see what works and what sucks.

Here's a Cine Gamma S curve that was made in the EOS Utility that you can use. I don't have the cam yet but it's supposed to flatten out your picture (raising the blacks and preserving the high's). If you use it let me know how it works out. The download and article can be found half way down the following page:

I believe there is also sample footage.

EDIT: I just watched the sample footage and it looks great. You have to download it.

EDIT 2: In regards to the video it seems they updated their site yesterday and left out the video link this time. I searched and found it on exposureroom.com (where I originally downloaded it from). Here it is:

Ian, do you know where I can download the EOS Utility program for Mac? I am here at work and eager to try this.

Octopi it should come with your camera. It's on the CD included in the box. there's windows and mac software on it.

I've wanted to toy around with that profile but the footage looked extra noisey to me. I don't know if it's the ISO setting or HTP or something... which means I should go ahead and DL it as well as install before my second camera goes out for rental this weekend and I only have the MKii to play with.

=(

i don't know Kholi but I like that look myself. However I don't doubt that flipping it to a more friendlier ISO would clean it up some more.

I'll take a chance and shoot an interview with S-3 tonight. If all goes well I'll post stills. If not, well :)

I want to use those, but when I load them into my camera I loose the ability to change the ISO. Is there a way to have all the same features an on M while in C1-3?

I've had something like that happen where the iso gets sticky. This is usually fixed by rebooting the cam or changing modes from M to Av and back. I think it's a firmware issue.
