•• My New Short Shot with a 7d ••

Here is my entry to the 2009 National Film Challenge. I loved working with the 7d and my nikon primes. The camera worked like a champ. The only issue I had was using the Beachtek 5d audio box...horrid audio in some parts.

Aside from that, I just loved shooting with this camera...my favorite.

Thanks all:

Man I tell you...everyone should enter one of these 72 hour or 48 hour film contests. It really is a good exercise to master one's craft. Not only do you have to think quick about filmmking, but then you have to make all the pieces fit.....script, storyboarding, sound design, etc. Add to all of this...NO SLEEP. It is funny how sleep depravation wil mess you up big time.

All in all, it is about bringing out the best of everyone and working as a cohesive machine to create movies.

LOL...if I ever met a dude like that main character I'd have him Baker Acted..l

Great job on this piece (48hrs or not). Everyone looked so dead serious.....meaning they played their roles so well.

LOL this was hilarious and very well done. Love the lighting man, what did you use for the talking head?

Also, what lens did u have on there? Super wide and looked sharp.

That was funny and well shot. It's an interesting choice to use a fisheye lens for an interview.

That was audio from the camera? Sounded fine, although the story hooked me so i wasn't paying much attention.

Great locations and acting, oh and nice camera. :)

Wow, 72 hours can give great results when the right people are envolved. The amazing thing is the story. Really strong and original.

Congrats!

This was such a joy to watch. The casting was just right on. I love mockumentaries and this is one of the best ones I've seen. I watched this trying to see what the 7d is capable of in terms of an actual shoot for a short, but after the first minute, i totally didn't care it was made with a 7d. it was just so damn funny.

Looks very good on some shots.I think im jealous ...even if it has moire problems.24p changes a lot.I hate 30p more and more everyday.

Great short. Good quality all around, video and sound were really great. I'd also be interested to know whether sound was onboard or a separate device.

The acting really had me sold!

Very very good. THis is what a mocumentary is all about, staying humurous but also engaging.

I wish i could show this to my film class, (we all had to make documentaries, but one group somehow convinced the teacher to let them make a mocumentary which felt a little flat at times)

This was so good, i actually paused it half way through, so i could go home and watch it with my girlfriend.

kudos!

wow! Are you serious? a 7d put this out? Forget about the content and quality of production (which is obvious) but the image is fantastic. Why the heck would you want to shoot with anything other than a DSLR?

Honestly, the 7d took care of my Scarlet cravings. If one can produce stunning images with this $1700 camera, why would you need anything else?

Bravo
