If you mount this with the shock absorber in the shoe of the DVX100B is it in frame? (no wide angle adapter) Is it safer to mount it in the the holder that comes with the camera. Just want to to make sure when I get the mic it is not in my frame! Thanks

In most of the pictures I see of the dvx100B there is a small shotgun mic attached to the top of the camera, but there are a few where the mic is not there. Does the dvx100B come with this mic or not? Thanks!

I was looking at pictures (nightime) shot on an XL 2 and a DVX100a. The DVX100a had more detail in the blacks but there was a lot of noise. The XL2 had no detail in the blacks, but the blacks were just that, black. Tell me if I am crazy here guys, but wouldn't you prefer the XL2 in this...
