Wide Angle filter for DVX?

I am looking at purchasing the 72mm Tiffen circular polarizer for a DVX100B. The 72mm comes as both a wide angle and a standard (the price difference is substantial with the wide angle being more expensive). Anyone know if the DVX gets wide enough to require the purchase of the wide angle 72mm or is that just for the fisheye lens?
