Here is a very good study of different color scaces.

It has an interesting table of contrast ratios.
I made a simple test. I shooted a test image from my bright and vivid TV screen with GH5 10bit HLG and Natural contrast -5 / idynamic standard. Both recorded all the shades from black to white and primary colors from darkest to most vivid. HLG makes better image and less noise in shadows. My TV...
HDR is coming and it causes confusion, fear and even anger in discussion forums. GH5 has a new HDR profile "HLG". It records more image data than normal profiles and even more than vlog-L.
How large color space it can record compared to rec709, DCI-P3 or rec2020?
Has someone used it with HDR...
Thanks. How can this 12 stops of dynamic range video frame fit in rec709 space because rec709 allows only 6 stops of scene DR? You must clip the highlights if you want to call it rec709 video. When I show these kind of examples experienced film makers say "you cant do it, rec709 cant have more...
I have been wondering the Panasonic GH5 internal mic quality. It is odd that I cant find any test results for GH5 mic audio quality. Why testers are not testing audio? My GH5 seems to record low frequences much weaker than GH3/4. I must add bass very much when listening my GH5 recordings. (Wind...
I have wondered why I cant see macro blocking in my GH5 4k 60P file like earlier with GH4 8bit 4k 30P. I tested with complex motion and the result is surprising. 60P is much cleaner than 30P.
Sorru. Difficult to make this post. I make it again.
A static frame may break also if the i-frames get too little bitrate. It is like a bad JPG compression. I think GH5 static frame is a little tiny bit better in 150Mbs ipb than 400Mbs all-i.
Here isan uncompressed png which show than GH5...
The new IS lock stabilator is incredible. It "glues" the lens in static clips but it helps in other ways too.
Surprisingly the IS lock makes walking with camera very stable and smooth. It makes "floating" stabilization and keeps the frame balanced smoothly. Combined with DUAL IS2 lens and...
GH5 e-shutter in photos is slower than GH4. Dont take photos of moving subjects with e-shutter. This is odd because Panasonic says the new sensor is faster than in GH4.

GH5 e-shutter seems to be as slow in JPG and RAW photos...
Here are crops from the same 6k photo file opened in Photoshop at 16bit and converted to 8bit JPG. Looks much better than my versions extracted with Potplayer. I see no dithering.
Is there some dithering in h.265 file. I saved GH5 6k photo sample frame and added 80% saturation in Photoshop. It revealed lots of garbage and dithering at pixel level crop. Is this typical h.265 image structure?
My post was the answer. No one knew it before.
I dont have manual lenses. I must use auto exposure quite often.
Am I the only one who wants to see what aperture, shutter speed and iso the camera is using? What harm it could do? Why the GH5 shows exposure info when taking photos? What is the logic?
No exposure info in automatic video modes or auto iso. The new auto iso in M and iso range will be difficult to use if the user cant see what iso the camera wants to use. I hope they fix it for final FW.
GH5 NEW FEATURES! (I have asked most of them for years, thanks Panasonic)
-auto iso in M with EV comp and with auto iso range setting.
-min shutter speed limit.
-iso100 for video! (This is great for noise and bright light)
-folder and file custom naming
-the whole camera status save/load option...
I can shoot video using a GH4 4k photo mode. It shows exposure values like photo modes and and has auto iso in M and auto iso upper limit. It makes just the same video files as normal 4k video.
It is very easy to toggle between S, A, P and M exposure modes.
I can have two different video modes...
