Getting ready to build a V mount to regulated power adapter and not sure about connectors. Aside from a 4 pin XLR, is there a standard locking DC power connector in use? These will be 7.2v to about 9v use, and also a 5v for USB power (but not a USB type A connector, still want locking here)...
Just got something from nVidia in my email about their new RTX Quadro chips in laptops:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/design-visualization/quadro-in-laptops/
I didn't click on any of the manufacturers, but I'm guessing most of the machines will be in the $2000+ (usd) price range because you...
So I'm thinking out loud here. There is a company that was selling custom converted Bolex cameras on Etsy called the Digilex. They were buying sensors and building some kind of control board for them. I looked at the images and wasn't thrilled with the resolution provided.
But I'm still...
Did anyone see this? https://www.atomos.com/shogun7
The multiple 1080 inputs with live async. switching is really very interesting, but not sure I have a need beyond curiosity. I can of course invent use cases for work, but no money to toy with things right now.
Also wondering if it will...
Title pretty much says it all, if you have a broken original BMD Cinema camera kicking around and willing to part with it on the cheap, please let me know. Don't really care what has happened to it.
As I'm getting back into live TV remotes, it's clear that I need to bring my own monitor to test feeds on cables. That's pretty easy. But I'd also like to have a monitor that I can calibrate so that I know it is accurate because you never know how good the monitors in the truck are going to be...
Torn between putting this in NLE or general software as it certainly covers a wider gamut than just editing. Also maybe sticky worthy and maybe we should have a Resolve section created (maybe?).
Some of you may have seen this in other threads or other forums, but it looks like BlackMagic is...
This is my on going review of the book "The Definitive Guide to Davinici Resolve 15. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/training This is part of the official BlackMagic training for this software. This will be a multipart review as I work through the sections so watch for...
Anyone have any experience with the Movo V Mount multi-voltage battery mount? https://www.amazon.com/Movo-RBS1-Camcorders-Monitors-Microphones/dp/B06WWG1TDL/
I was going to make my own because I have some extra plates and can buy switching regulators from Pololu pretty cheap, but then I need to...
I just got an email about how the new tariffs are going to make certain Avid products more expensive, this included Nexus storage which they are predicting an 8 to 20% increase (depending on the number of hard drives installed). I assume this is going to filter all the way down to the "cheap" SD...
We recently received many Desisti Monet model 210 fresnels from a TV station, they bought a new set and went LED with pretty much everything. So now I have about 12 of these fixtures sitting on the floor with the standard G22 bi-pin base. The station was having a lot of problems with the bases...
Any tips for shooting shots of welding? Think tighter shots of the metal and the arc. So far what I have is an adjustable auto darkening assembly from a welding helmet taped inside a mattebox. After white balance through the #4 filter it looks ok for the pre-arc video. Once the arc starts is the...
We are in a crunch to spend some money before it is frozen, and for many years we've been discussing that we need to go to LED lighting. We currently have 12 kits with Tota and Omni lights, they are big, heavy, and cut into class time to cool down so they can be packed away.
We were looking at...
I'm looking for a transcoder that can basically watch a folder and anything that is dropped into that folder will get transcoded into XDCam HD op1a at 50mbps to send to our Avid Airspeed. Need to kind of set it up as a server and FTP or make a file share or something to get stuff into it and out...
Looking for a reasonably decent but cheap stereo microphone to go on top of a Soloshot 3 with 65 camera, needs a 1/8 connector and internal battery. Not sure hiw well it will work, so I don't want to spend a lot of money just yet.
Anyone have a soloshot 3 with either the 65 or 25 camera? Just wondering how well it works on the latest software. I have a used one coming next week that I hope to use for racing this summer.
Anyone see this yet? It hasn't come around to my part of the USA but I'm kind of interested in seeing this in the theaters. Is it worth the money or all internet hype?
Buy cheap clear plastic at a home store (for replacing widows), cut to size, sand both sides with 80 grit sandpaper, glue magnets to both light and diffuser. Done.
That is essentially what came with our cheap Ikan lights, theirs are more refined but the idea is exactly the same. You can get...
