Dunno about these specifically, but I'd just say generally speaking I like the innovation Shure is doing and I'd lean towards supporting Shure as they seem to be going in the right direction here.
$400 feels overpriced for a Panasonic AF100.
With luck you might get a Sony FS7 or F5 or OG URSA Mini for that kind of budget you have, US$1K.
It would be very easy to find a FS5, FS700R, C300mk1, or F3 for sub $1K. And I'd take any of those in a heartbeat over an AF100 or C100.
Sony UWP-D21 are easily the best prosumer wireless you can buy (better than Sennheiser G4) if you are on an ultra low budget.
Don't settle for less than that if you're doing paid work!
Tempted by these, anybody else tried out their supercardioid?

Could get two...
I own a couple of the Nano Shields, but watch out that you can't remove their quick release plug! Thus you are kinda "forced to" use Rycote's own quick release system. (if you're already using them, then no big deal! But could be a big issue if you're already heavily invested in something else...
As I've said before, we're in an extremely extremely small niche of a niche market.
The fact Tascam is a "large" company, doesn't matter.
How many Zaxcom ZFR400 do you reckon get sold each year? Not many.
And the percentage of sales the likes of a DR10L makes out of Tascam's total sales...
Would be very very interesting to invite JuicedLink to hear their side as well.... or maybe they're silenced and legally unable to speak because of Zaxcom??
I do believe Panasonic had flip out screens with their MFT cameras, before Canon DSLRs.
(and I wouldn't be surprised if Panasonic wasn't the first either, and this is an even older concept)
Likewise, DJI wasn't the first to make gimbals.
In my personal opinion (IANAL), Zaxcom should never have got a patent for this.
But the problem is that Zaxcom serves an extremely small small niche of a sub niche of a market.
Thus nobody wants to truly try hard to bring this patent down by throwing tonnes of money and armies of lawyers at...
Have had the F3 for over 5yrs, and am toying now with the thought of upgrading it to my next "five year camera".
Part of me would like to go to the F5, as the natural progression from the F3, especially as both the F5 and FS7 go for fairly similar prices secondhand so it wouldn't cost me much...
Have loved the Panasonic G6, such a big upgrade from the original Panasonic GH1 which I started this filmmaking journey with (although technically it was my girlfriend's Nikon D90 or my sister's Canon T2i that I borrowed for*the first handful of shoots), but in recent years I've been considering...
The large size (15.6"), high resolution (it is actually UHD! Not like these other "4K monitors" which merely mean it can take a 4K input, but are only a 1080 screen in reality), low-ish weight & power demands (2Kg & ≤18W), and various features (SDI / quadview / PIP / etc) all make it quite...
The Marantz Pro PMD-706 MK 2 got announced, not really sure why it is worth buying over the mk1? Let alone the excellent Zoom F4, which when on sale sells for almost the same as the Marantz Pro PMD-706 MK1.
However, it is good to see Marantz still supporting and developing their field...
Fantastic news! This certainly is making a secondhand Sony FS700 even more tempting with this very compact external recorder. I just wish this new AtomX SDI also included the functionality of the AtomX Sync as well, to give the FS700 timecode...
I hope in the future as the VFX tools we have at hand get better and as crew awareness increases then we'll be able to happily have booms in shot much more often for the sake of improved sound. This is already common place on many shoots such as "House of Cards", and advancing VFX technology...
