What are people's thoughts on exposing C-Log to the right?
Seems to me like the values are very similar to those of S-Log2, and everyone said that ETTR on the A7s - another 8-bit camera - was a must. On the other hand, I'm seeing threads from years ago with people saying that it will ruin the...
Balance really isn't great, but it does the job. Going to try a QR plate on the top of the shoulder pad to move it forward, off the rails (though that will make accessing the buttons harder). Got a V-Lock that I can use as counter-balance, but really don't like the added weight.
I've just realized I'm getting extremely noticeable artifacting at the start of each clip when recording internally - makes continuous rolling impossible.

Looks as though the edge of his nose is strangely sharp, despite being entirely out of focus. Shot with Sharpness on either -10 or -6 in C-Log, one of the Cowpunk profiles.
Also, got some really heavy banding in another shot, ungraded...
Not quite aerial cinematography, but relevant. I'm trying to build a cheap wireless monitor solution and am interested in incorporating an FPV monitor with a built-in receiver so I don't have to velcro batteries everywhere.
Is it possible to hook a 5.8GHz transmitter of some sort up to my...
So, after getting hit in the face by a rogue Ninja Blade on an articulating arm on-set, I decided it was time to buy a proper monitor/EVF mount. Did some digging, found that Cinema 5D article etc. But then I checked eBay and found what looked to be an Indian-made near-exact replica of the...
Decided to offload some old bits and pieces I still have lying around, and have run into a dilemma: should I sell my Rode Videomic Pro?
For those of you who shoot run and gun event type stuff, is the Rode a valuable piece of kit? How big of a difference, practically, does it make when shooting...
What grading workflow do you follow when working with C-Log footage?
Never really used it before, and now that I have my Ninja Blade, I've decided to give it a shot. Did some tests (on DNxHD 220x), pushing contrast a lot. First, I tried just doing it by eye, using Colorista II and Filmconvert...
I've been thinking about Canon's options to transition into 4K, something they will not be able to ignore within a few years. The only real solution I could think of - something that wouldn't render the C500 completely obsolete - is a hardware upgrade along the entire C series that replaces the...
What's up with this subtle interlacing left behind when viewing (properly interpreted) PsF footage? This stuff: http://i.imgur.com/UZAS53E.jpg
I may be pixel peeping, but it's as plain as day to me, especially when looking at, say, people's faces from far away. Fine details in a wider shot. Did...
Wow. So, I tried screwing an articulating arm into the 1/4" thread near the back of my C100's top handle, something I've seen heaps of people do before. No excessive force or anything when suddenly BOOM, the whole thread somehow breaks off. Doesn't strip, just... breaks off...
Bit of a silly question, and ultimately pretty pointless, but is this even possible, what with flange distances and all that? I'm asking this because I'm in the market for a telephoto zoom, and this would make a 70-200 so much better than the Sigma 50-150.
GH3 has minor scuffing around the edge of the grip.
12-35 in mint condition and comes with bonus plastic zoom lever.
$800 for the GH3, $820 for the 12-35, not including shipping. I'm in Melbourne if you're interested in pickup.
For more info and photos, take a look at my Gumtree ads here and...
This is pretty specific, but has anyone had any luck with intercutting C100 footage with GH3 stuff? I have an old project (initially shot on my GH3) on standby, waiting on the client to organize some stuff, and would like to sell off said GH3 at this point. I do, however, feel like I should...
