So I have wondered for a very long time what that thing is called that directors use to see what it would look like as a camera shot. You see them all the time with it, it looks like a telescope, but I have never heard what it is called Please someone its driving me crazy!!!

Does a wide angle lens make your videos look more like real movies, as in does it get it closer to the "film look" or is it just preference for more wide angled shots.
