Wide angle lens

Does a wide angle lens make your videos look more like real movies, as in does it get it closer to the "film look" or is it just preference for more wide angled shots.
 
None of the above.

It makes your camera see more to the sides even though you're not too far from the thing your filming. It's useful in small areas.
 
What do you mean by "replace"? If anything, you should use a tele-photo adapter to get shallower DOF. Depending on how wide the wide angle lens is, usually they are 'non zoom-thru' and will either get out of focus or weird edges.
 
Cause of the crack on mine i figured i would find a cheap but maybe more helpful towards the film look way to replace it rather than pay a ton for the same lens

Do you mean a crack on the actual DVX lens or wide angle lens? I am confused.
 
you cant replace the actual internal DVX100 lens with something else. It has to be the same lens. A wide angle lens is something you attach to the front of the camera in addition to your normal dvx lens.
