Somehow I formatted a Card in a Canon Camera that had an entire music video on it. The card was put aside and has not been touched since. Is it possible to recover these video files? The card was actually formatted in the Canon DSLR (not just deleted). I can see there are lots of software...

You know those cheesy music effects you hear in all the reality TV shows (the rising tension noise when someone says something about someone else, cue rising tension noise, cut to shocked reaction etc)? Is there someplace to purchase a collection of these? I am starting to edit a realty TV...

***I have now added a review - below*** Has anyone used the Edelkrone Pocket Rig 2? Or seen any 3rd party reviews for it? I have looked for reviews here and elsewhere to see if it would suit my needs (for a lightweight, discrete, rig for travelling and running & gunning). I wonder if it...

As noted in a FCPX internet board: "We first got an inkling of the Beeb's move to FCPX a few months ago, but today we have official BBC confirmation courtesy of FCP.co friend Richard Atherton: After a successful trial period BBC news cameramen/editors will be upgrading to Final Cut Pro X...

Is no one talking about his show yet? I have to say the cinematography, sound design, dark lighting, the locations & set design is blowing me away. I can't find any info about it online. And while I know lighting, lenses, sets etc are all more important than the actual camera used, it would be...

Should have used this:

I dunno', I tried it and it doesn't seem that much fun....

So what are the legal issues I should know about if I want to write a screenplay based on recent events, where many of the people involved in the event are still alive? The event in question happened within the last 20 years; it involved a lot of victims, some who were held hostage and some who...

Professional fat suits are expensive, need to be customized to the actor, and it takes hours of makeup to get it to match their skin and blend it altogether. A real fat person would be cheaper than a fake one.

I travel a lot, and recently wanted to get a backpack that would safely carry a DSLR, my lenses, a follow focus and baseplate, a small rig (its an old photo rifle stock from the 1970's), LCD loupe, batteries, Variable ND filter, Lens hood, audio recorder, lav mic, 17" Macbook Pro, external hard...

Images of the 85mm have been put up on the Rokinon Facebook page. Anyone know where I can get a hold of the 14mm, 24mm & 35mm in Canon mount together, preferably in NY? I have a friend going there in mid October for a week; and had hoped to get them from B&H, but the 35mm is backordered. I...

So I filmed this for the Rode Rockumentary competition that has been advertised here. Essentially you have to make a documentary in under 2 minutes that features a Rode microphone somewhere in the footage. As the prize is based on a music documentary, I decided to make my entry a music...

So this is the first documentary I have tried filming with a DSLR. Nearly all the shots in this were filmed with a Canon T3i with a vintage 50mm Nikkor lens. Mostly the shots were locked off, but a few were done on a basic rig (made from an old photo safari stock). Other shots were done with a...

I have been using the beta trial version with FCPX for some time with great results. Today Neat Video sent out an email saying that Neat Video v3.2 for FCP has been released with support for FCPX and other improvements. Happy noise free days!
