Is no one talking about his show yet?

I have to say the cinematography, sound design, dark lighting, the locations & set design is blowing me away.

I can't find any info about it online. And while I know lighting, lenses, sets etc are all more important than the actual camera used, it would be interesting to know what they're using. It kind of has an old 5d vibe to it (soooo much shallow dof), and those 'canon' colors. They must be using an Alexa I guess?

Big mention to whoever is doing the 'food design' on that show too (* barf)! And what about Hannibal's suits!
 
I've been watching it. I dig it, though it often moves at a glacial pace. 10 minutes of story stretched to fit 44 minutes of content. But yes, it is beautiful. I wouldn't judge by colors you see in the final product. . .I'm sure that show is graded like a mofo.
 
Its definitely a slow burner. But they really ratchet up the tension with the creepy (and often surreal) visuals and bizarre soundscape.

If anyone started watching this thinking it was going to be like the movie Hannibal, they'll be disappointed (or pleasantly surprised). As a show that revolves around characters that are mostly psychologists and behaviourists, its definitely more of a psychological thriller than a slasher. Though the violence (often seen after the fact) is outright shocking.

After watching Mads Mickelson as Lecter, you begin to realise just how hammy Anthony Hopkins was playing the character....
 
I enjoy the show a lot, the visuals are stunning. It has given me many ideas for my own projects.

The Dane just seems to play it a lot cooler than Hopkins did (especially in the last film when it became a bit of a parody). I think Lecter was always meant to have a foreign background, so the accents work either way for me.

I see that the Producer said they did indeed film it on Alexa (using a gemini recorder). Unfortunately he has also just recently started a Twitter campaign to ask NBC to renew it for a third season. It would be a real shame if it got cancelled so soon....
