Image-wise the Blackmagic cameras are on par or even better than the fx5, but for my type of work (one man band run and gun doc) all of the BM cameras are non-starters for obvious reasons.

Your videos look very "cinematic" for want of a better term. I'm very hopeful that Sony has finally given us an image with excellent color, highlight rolloff and motion cadence. I've owned the a7siii, fx3, fx30 and fx6 and while they're great cameras I could never get an image I was one hundred...

Really jealous that you got a working fx5. Sony keeps pushing back the release date and it's super frustrating!

Yeah, I have a buddy with a pyxis 12k and it has a great image, but in terms of how I work a total mismatch.

Saw that. Blackmagic definitely helping out low budget filmmakers... Blackmagic and Nikon are smart with their timing given the fx5 delays. They will definitely lure some people away...

Thanks, most of the symptoms are gone except the fatigue and shortness of breath which are a PITA when you're lugging equipment. With my documentaries I work at my own pace and try to choose subjects that are a match for my stamina. I also have good days and bad days but three years on it's hard...
