It's official, now the owner of an FS700....

I don't have my camera with me at the moment, but I believe these are the settings I used: "Large DR PP" Cine 4 Knee 80 Slope 3 Detail -2 Color Mode - Cinema / 6 Black Middle / 0 Color Level +2 As for holding the camera, I am so used to focusing with my left hand I doubt I'd be able to switch...

It's official, now the owner of an FS700....

Glad you like our series! We are having a lot of fun with it. As for setup, I am using the camera without anything attached to it. At first with the FS100 I built about 5 different systems to hold it and I always felt it was either too heavy or too awkward. I realized I have a very specific...

It's official, now the owner of an FS700....

Well, I know I've been quiet lately, mainly because I've been more off the computer than on the computer. I've really enjoyed my time with the FS100 but I was ready to move to the cinegammas so I finally made the plunge, although I am waiting for it to arrive. So, for all of you that switched...

Mario Warfare: Episode 1 (Shot with FS100 and 7D)

Well, it's finally released after a long and bumpy road. I felt it was important to put this in the FS100 category because this was the first project I did with the FS100 where I was very very satisfied with the camera operation. There were two shooters for the whole film, half being me and...

    OTHER: Mario Warfare Series Trailer

We are getting close to releasing our first episode to our new mini-series parody on YouTube called 'Mario Warfare' which has been in production for quite some time. Those familiar with our first series 'Modern War Gear Solid' will know exactly what to expect...

Why I think Knee and Slope settings are the Devil

Here are some shots from the "4 days" video with the FS700. Note, early on, with the dog running around, the blow-out of that sun looks good. However, these are what I have issue with. The thing is, some of the shots look nice, even from these same segments. Just a certain intensity above...

Why I think Knee and Slope settings are the Devil

I am seeing similar results inside and outside of multiple NLE and viewers. I use VLC for just looking at MTS clips. Here is another example for you. Same shot, only difference is I cranked up the gain on the FS100. The one on the right, which is blown out, looks great in terms of highlight...

Why I think Knee and Slope settings are the Devil

Maybe you have better settings that I do, maybe I've not found the right combination yet, as I've got to say, there is a million settings to adjust on this camera. I don't always see the problem and not all highlights end up with the issue, but, certain combinations pop out REALLY bad for me...

    FS100 firmware release date

As promised, we did release the thing we shot today. Before you look at the link, I want to say, this wasn't a test of exactly what the FS100 could do. Well, maybe from me, but the editor who shot hand-held for most of the shots with me shooting on a 7D (letting him get familiar with my FS100)...

My weekend with the FS100 and a 7D...

It was really that bad, the color shift. The other shooter and I put the filter on and off and it was very clear with the shooting conditions that color shifting was happening, and I also feel a loss of contrast as well. I believe it was more the color shift was the problem causing a perceived...

My weekend with the FS100 and a 7D...

This weekend we had two long shoots with the FS100. I've used it on a few short shoots before this, but never this many shots and for this many situations. As some background history, my previous two cameras were an AF100 and before that a 7D (which I still own). There has been a lot of...

    Does everyone shoot shoulder mount?

I spent a lot of time researching every angle on what I wanted to do for this series of shoots I have coming up over the next month and a half. From a shoulder rig perspective, I don't have all the parts I need to test out how to undersling the camera. With the parts I do have I tried a few...

Remote LANC control.....what are you using?

I would like to a remote box (with wire) to place on my grip but I am not sure what to try. Anyone using any of them and have any feedback on their performance?

    Does everyone shoot shoulder mount?

90% of the photos I see on here are people shooting shoulder mount. I thought, okay, I've not really shot a lot of shoulder mount so let me try it. I've been through 2 iterations of shoulder mount setup and the honest truth is I just don't like it. Given I am 6'4" most people are shorter than...

    The Muppets (2011)

Okay, I just got back from watching the muppets and I honestly though, wow, they must have shot this on film. Then I check IMDB and see that it was the Red Epic and the Red One MX. I have to say, I thought the movie was great, looked fantastic, and was well worth the viewing. I can say there...
