From clips Ive seen (dont own the camera... yet), it doesnt appear that the slog3 implementation on the a6300 actually provides any more dynamic range than slog2. The shadows are a bit more lifted, but the highlights look like the hod the same amount of data. Can anyone confirm this?
Is this amount of luma and chroma noise (see water) to be expected froma a slightly underexposed slog3 shot? This is a 100% crop of a 4k clip at iso 800 with a simple slog3 to rec709 lut applied.

I will be getting a Sony cam soon with s-gamut3 color. Ive read that you must use a LUT to properly convert the colors, but that you also must use the proper LUT. For instance, using the same LUT for shots with different exposure or white balance wont work properly. Is this really the case, or...
I had thought that we were going to hear news of the a6100/a7000 release earlier this month at the show, but that came and went. Any ideas on when the announcement might come?
I feel like no one ever mentions how horribly the intense noise reduction on the a6000/a5100 affects the video quality. This and the compression just kill detail in moderate to low light, even at low iso. Try to lift the shadows and you get blotchy mush. You get these little blocks and artifacts...
Wanted to see if it could be usable, and it can be.... kind of. (Whats up with the youtube preview?)
GH3 iso 12800 in monochrome profile. Havent tried in a color profile, but I imagine it wouldnt be pretty.
Uploaded at 1440p for best detail retention.
Great condition Nikon 35mm f/1.4 AI for sale. Very little internal dust (just a couple little specks), no haze or fungus that I have seen. Very good housing condition, but shows a minimal amount of wear due to its age.
Will post pics if a serious buyer requires, but we all know what they look...
Just finished a Lightroom Shadows and Highlights simulation powergrade. Of course, working with H.264 the results wont be nearly as good, but it helps especially in the shadows.
-Adjust the OUTPUT GAIN slider in the key area for the SHADOWS and HIGHLIGHTS nodes to control the intensity...
I have created a Davinci Resolve powergrade that simulates Adobe Lightroom's "Clarity" and "Vibrance" effects. Its not perfect, but it is very close. Here's the first version, I will update the powergrade if I find a way to improve it. When you append the node graph, it gets a little sloppy, but...
We had a crazy couple days here in Georgia, around Atlanta. Very unusual weather for us! Heres a wobbly handheld clip on a GH3 of my wife and I strolling through the neighborhood Wednesday night.
