    HMC 150 Changed My Life

This may seem a bit daffy, but I have struggled with sharpness ever since my Mom bought me a Bolex 155 Macrozoom camera in the 70s. I always wanted to achieve the same clarity of images that I witnessed on the BIG screen with films I admired. In the 80s I longed for Panavision, ended up in...

    HMC 150 Jerk start zoom???

Greetings, I'm about to place my order at B and H for the HMC 150! I've had a DVX100B for about 4 years and love it! One thing I dislike about the DVX is the little JERK when you are trying to feather in to a sneaky zoom. Does anyone know if the problem has been remedied on the HMC 150. Thanks!

    DVX 100B Zoom Concern??

I've recently noticed that when I zoom out on the DVX 100B, the frame shifts a bit. If I am on full telephoto, and creep the zoom out (not the handle zoom) the picture shifts as the zoom begins. Tryed it on full wide zooming in and it seemed better. It's like the zoom gear is "catching the other...

    Newbie to 24P

If you plug in to a regular TV via RCA out of the DVX 100B will the 24P you shot view as 24P? Do you have to do anything else to it? Just a footnote... is there a way to convert the audio knobs where you can get a hold of them?? Whats the best shoulder mount adapter? How much do Videographers...

How to make a DVX into an ARRI35

I got really board one night and decided to turn my DVX 100B into an ARRI35mm. I found some foamcore with a matte black finish, and constructed a 400' magazine using black tape to hold it together. Putting the finish white tape on the side ARRI 1/26/07 5247 Roll 1...It rocked! Fitted it to the...

    UpRezzing, What does this mean?

Just saw the film November, although I was annoyed at the structure of the editing, I was captivated with the use of color. Reminds me that audiences don't have to understand, only remember. QUESTION: They say they uprezzed this DVX to HD Digibeta, then Transfered to 35mm neg. How does uprezzing...

    From Bolex Macrozoom to DVX

I'm an old guy, 48. My first film was shot on a Double 8mm (Flip the roll over after 25 feet) Progressed to SUPER 8. ( didn't want to,film was out of touch in a weird black cartridge) Shot it learned to love it... Dreamed of shooting 16mm, it was sharper and could be projected over a long...

Wow! Ive shot betacam most of my life. Shooting with DVX countered some probs! Had to shoot my high school reunion. First off....NO LIGHT, they had the lights dimmed to a night light look. Thin,Medium, Thick. Is this backwards??

I'm reading through Barry Green's book and He says thin gives you best resolution. But while experimenting with the menu and switching back and forth, thick seems to look sharper... Help! I have a DVX 100B and I'm trying to make the image as sharp as the camera can do. Barry if your listening...
