I currently own the Sigma 20mm f1.4, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4 and the 105 (macro) f2.8. I also own the Sony 70-200 f4 and the 200-600.
For interviews, I use the 50 1.4 (usually at f1.4) and I've had some real movers in the seat (who I've had to subdue with a tranquillizer gun ), but the lens...
Hi all,
I've just been using a Canon R6 Mk2 and cannot get 1/50th shutter in manual video mode. It only gives me 1/45th and 1/60th but not 1/50th.
Now, the camera is set to PAL and also is shooting in 4K (uhd) @ 25p. I don’t have any anti-flicker modes on. I’ve been looking through all the...
My FX6 finally arrived yesterday, replacing my old FS7 (can’t believe I’ve had that since November 2014!).
So I’ve been doing some trials with it (as you do) and noticed that my old FS7 z-finder works very well, no flopping (even with the viewfinder up and away from the screen). Which is nice...
Has any UK owners had a service on their FS7 yet?
I’ve tried going through Sony Prime and they seem to think that I want it repaired rather than just a health check and clean up.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
Mine just arrived, took me 5 minutes to fit it (as I had Caleb's mount previously).
The SmallRig mount is very solid, but I need to test it in the field for more of a rounded opinion.
I got rid of the bar after my microphone mount snapped.
I have the SmallRig top plate and bolted a 15mm rod clamp on top and attached the viewfinder to that. I use a Rycote InVision mount for the microphone attached to a cold shoe on the opposite side of the top plate.
It's working quite well...
Hi,
Forgive my ignorance, but looking at the rumoured features for the FS7 mk11 (or whatever it'll be called) I noticed that it will have the ability to record with REC2020.
Now, am I right in thinking that a firmware update could allow existing FS7 users to shoot for REC2020 as the SGamut3...
I, too, had my doubts about the Tilta plate because it "hung in the air" but I bought it as I needed a quick backup v-mount power option.
I'm more than happy with the results and as for whether it can hold a battery or two easy enough, how about 5???
There is zero flex on the mount with 5...
As it was such a nice day I decided to film the dog.
I also wanted to play with Doug Jansen's HG8 setting (from his Vimeo Masterclass), to have a nice punchy image to hand off to a client without any grading whatsoever.
So that's what this is.

On the subject of rigging (and I didn't want to start a new thread), I have been using Redrock Micro, Micro Ties to clamp down the viewfinder cable as I found it annoying to keep pushing it out of the way!
I added the bar adapter to the rear of the Chrosziel plate so I could put a V-Mount on. I bought a D-Tap to Sony barrel connector so I could power it with my PagLink batteries.
Well, here you go! The Chrosziel plate arrived today and managed to get my camera back for two seconds to put it on (a friend is hiring it!). He didn't bring the handle with him so I couldn't test it out but here are some pics.
Its much lighter than the Zacuto and has an (unsurprisingly)...
OK, here are some pictures for you to get an idea.
The first is showing how far the U90 Sony battery sticks out.
The next is showing the Swit 62 battery with the fly lead connected and the D-Tap plug exposed.
The final on is with no battery
Hope this helps!
Hi,
I am looking for a copy of the above DVD to help me swat up on the HVX 200. Unfortunately, living in the UK I can't afford to wait 3 weeks for average delivery other wise I'd go to the source.
So if anyone in the UK has a copy they want to sell, I would really be interested!!
Thanks,
Neill
