I'd like to restrict this thread to button assignment on the Canon R5C. Feel free to change your mind on button layout at any time and revise opinions freely, but I'd prefer if we don't compare the R5C to other cameras here, or end up discussing the benefits/downsides of AF in general.

Hi,
If you have sample video files from the Canon 1Dx mkIII in raw format that you are willing to share, I would very much appreciate a link.
Same goes for anyone who knows of working links to previously released footage. I know of Cookinghusband's files on this forum, but the one .crm was...
Not a fan of crushed blacks (or lifted for that matter) myself.
To my eyes, this is not just a WB error. This has "yeah, I slapped a LUT on this baby" all over it. There are large portions of the image—like the table top, piano top and the back rest of the chair—that have virtually no...
Looks like they've been run through a pretty nasty LUT.
The images your linking to, is that what you've got as a baked in file?
That said.... what is your problem exactly? You can drop the blacks a remove color cast and so on?
I'd worry more about some very ugly faux log conversion that has...
For your consideration:
After having been curious about Masterclass for a while, I jumped in a while back.
Essentially, this is an alternative to all other video learning sites out there with the difference that on Masterclass you only have A-listers in their respective fields doing the...
You misunderstand me completely.
I didn't want to write "Lord is that ugly", so I changed the wording a bit.
What I then go on to talk about is appearance/looks as a proxy for design sophistication. The Alexa reeks of sophistication. THAT, one could argue, makes it beautiful. I'm not talking...
Canonrumors.com has revised their admittedly loose speculation that we might see a C100 mkIII and NAB to firmly saying that won't happen.
Instead they're saying:
What if the radio silence around the new promised "low end" 8-bit codec for the C200 is coupled with a decision to offer more; a...
Just spent some time turning the following thought over in my head: I actually don't want the C100 mkIII to be 4k.
But the idea is not because I want it to be a lesser camera, to the contrary I want it to be more—all that it can be—for a specific user group.
The next C100 will not be a 4k...
"Shoot green screen" can mean a lot of stuff...
If you're talking about video podcasting, or a similar setup with a presenter or two, and you want background removal to add logos, sets and such… then I'd consider the Canon XC10 at least once.
I imagine a smaller sensor can do great for that...
Reliable leak site digicams-info.com posts this:

Some 1Dx mkII user posted these .jpegs and subsequently took them down. They have been re-uploaded on Canonrumors.
Same lens and exposure with a 1Dx mkII vs a 1Dx. The exposure was set to -5EV, so underexposed by 5 stops and then pushed back up again in post.
Regardless if this is internal...
