Our special categories recognize films for excellence in a given technical discipline. In order to spread the prizes out, the top three winning films aren't eligible for the technical awards that include prizes. The technical award winners reflect the high scores given to them by their peers in the voting. Congratulations!

WOW THANKS JARRED BARRY EVERYONE.

I knew Spidey would nab it :) it's deserved.

It's an honor to be mentioned with CPU and ...

A Brief Case -- it's a cult classic like Donny Darko -- you can read so many things into it and its entertaining, and technically polished the whole time.

LOL, I have a NICHE placement: Second - not a bad place to hang out ... from now on I'm gonna shoot for second in DVXuser contests rather than first -- see if I can pull off some bizarre sort of hat trick -- hee hee.

WOW

I had

WE ARE NOT ALONE
ODD SQUAD
CPU
BRIEF CASE
SIMILO

Great job winners.

Congrats to everyone who placed. And much respect and luv to everyone who submitted a film. I watched every one of them (i think) and had a great time doing it. This was a lot of fun.

I was gonna sit out the next one, but I don't think my partners/co-conspirators will let me now. They are both superhero fanatics. lovely...

WE ARE NOT ALONE

BRIEFCASE

But I knew Spidey would nab it and he and Kaz were .2 points apart on my sheet.

Or at least they would have been -- I didn't get to vote -- got to our hotel tonight 4 hours later than scheduled and this thread was already up :(

Oh well :)

Oh, Brandon, before I forget ... there's been kind of a standing rule about the size of banners ... look at the one I have, or many of the others. Cool CU of the eyes, though!

So not to diss whoever Trekky is, but DVXTrek took best script?? I wonder how users really rank the screenplay thing, as this is something Waltind and I were just discussing today, as our scores differed quite a bit in this area. He also ranked DVXTrek high in the script area, but he was doing it more from an original stand point.

Those stories that didn't seem as original ranked much lower than the ones that were original. Whereas I see it completely different ... a person can have an incredibly unique story, yet not be able to write to save their life and kill it with expository dialogue, poor pacing, character arc, etc.

So I'm just curious how most people were judging script/screenplay. THE ODD SQUAD was the only 10 I gave out, as it not only had a strong story, but I loved the dialogue that was in it & pacing.

I had a 9.8 and 9.3 difference on ODD and WE ARE...

I gave DVXTrek like 8 or even 9 for Screenplay, but I thought it was just for fun? Didn't know it was eligible for any prizes. I think in the end it was rated higher than any "real" movie in my ballot, but that's just because it was hilarious... I'd give it some sort of Speical Award, but Excellence in Screenplay? I don't know...

GRATZ, everyone!

Jack *cough* you don't need another Sportser, do you? :Drogar-Evil(DBG):
Actually ... I found a glidecam pro and smoothshooter system on ebay for $1000 altogther + I have a flow pod already, but no DvSporster ... so technically I don't "NEED" either. I think my GF will make me sell them as we are pretty broke what with movin' to NYC and all, but I might see what I could trade them for t varizoom:Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Funny. Yeah, Waltind ranked it pretty high for acting as well, and I'm like "WHAT?" I never asked if it was a joke or not, but was surprised as acting couldn't really even apply to it since there wasn't even any VO talent involved.

I'll post the other stuff tomorrow. It's 3:15 am here! I pity the poor sucka that asks me to do more work tonight! :costumed-smiley-047
