The word "defeatist" has very little to do with the comment. That implies that the contest isn't over, or that there is something left to be done and that I'm shooting myself in the foot with my lack of optimism. My comment was a simple chuckle about how my movie garnered a fair amount of (reasonable) constructive criticism which certainly puts it out of the running for the top spots.

That is the thin line between defeatist/pessimistic and realist. I'm not being humble when I say that there were several movies that deserve to win the competition much more than mine, and based upon the critical response, will win (though the exact order is still in doubt).

It would be defeatist for me to say "well, I guess I won't enter the next competition because people don't like my movies".... (I was in the 20th percentile for zombiefest)

100 posts... joined yesterday... you've been pretty busy...

oh, and I'm not stalking you, isty. I just happen to come across your posts in the topics that interest me.
 
I sent mine in Friday, hope you got it Jarred/Barry. I do wish there was a "got your ballot" response e-mail, even an automated one.

yeah, I was wondering if there was any way he could let us know if the ballots got in alright. It might be a logistics problem, though. Perhaps he could printscreen the directory with all the ballots in it. (or.. if he's on osx...pull up a terminal, hop in the directory and type "ls -l > list.txt").
 
Well, I did it :) although did not have time to comment on all of them (it is half past midnight here). I was going to vote on the acting alone, but was advised to vote for the ones I saw.

Unfortunately I was off sick last week so managed to watch all of them, I just didn't think I was going to make 100 posts to vote so didn't really pay much attention to it.

I've just voted for the ones which I thought had the best acting in them. I wish everyone the best of luck and thank you for welcoming my comments, despite some of them being rather 'abrupt'.
 
Sent mine in yesterday. Too bad I won't have an interent connection tomorrow in order to find out how the scoring went.

Deadline is 11:59pm Eastern time, or 8:59pm Pacific time for those who are wondering. Jared stated this in another thread.

I had the chance to view most and mark them as well .
Time constrants Re- OT didn't permitt me to comment on all .

I'll say this .The films here were excellent this time around .
