"Losers in Excess" a Jonathan Killoran Film

In your own words:
:huh:WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?!

Being a fan of really stupid movies...I enjoyed this film & continue to chukle as I type. Not the best production value and yet it works. Not the best acting and yet it works. Not a lot of things...but it still works.

..and you think I'm a silly bastard? Right back at you my friend! Congrats to you and the crew on a job well done.

Thanks ZaZa... you repeating my words and then typing up something nice after, that means a lot.

By the way, did you like the mention of the dog?

I think this film ended up being exactly what you guys set out to make, and in that I think you should be proud. Congratulations.

Thank you.

I'm sorry but I just didn't like this one. The WRITING and the acting just killed it for me. Don't be put off by this review though, because I see you've had plenty of positive feedback and you're never going to please everyone. I just felt I owed it to you since you took the time to make it and I sat through it to give some kind of response. It could be that I just didn't get it or this just isn't my kind of movie.

Blaine, there is no need to be sorry and your honesty is appreciated. I didn't make the film for anyone in particular to like - just an idea that I ran with and beat it into the ground - so I can fully understand your distaste. It's not for everyone. BUT I'm glad you stuck it through till the end. Thanks for your comments.

This was one of the films that you watch and all you can think to yourself is "aah haha" it was comedic but i didnt find it very interesting. some nice shots though.

Some weird thing happened where it looked like the actor took the other actors voice. Hard to explain..Haha.

Acting was bad, and the sound was 50/50.

I liked some camera shots, and overall the grade was good.

Ending was pretty funny, good job on that.

Robbie

"where is my friend?!" *punch* hahaha.

I'm really surprised that this many people decided to do comedy. Just like someone said up there...coming from a non-expert....I don't think anything in particular was beautiful. Sound or audio. but it worked out. I don't think it would have been as funny if it was done too well. haha.

You have just brought Monty Python back from the grave with this outing. Your production value sucks to high hell, but I don't care. I had fun watching this thing, and you did make me laugh. That's all that matters.

This was silly funny! Not the best production but it did make me laugh at times, sue me. :)

I loved all the LOST references. More polish and maybe slightly better improv/writing and you might really be on to something.

Keep at it.

Dudes I really didn't like this film. I've been trying to come up with a positive review for it to point out some of the things you got right and maybe help you fix the many many things you got so wrong.

Thing is, and this is important: I found myself laughing at times. I didn't want to. I wanted to flat out hate this film, because I personally cannot stand movies like dumb and dumber, and this was an extremely low budget Dumb and Dumber.

That means that you;re doing something right, and that's being GENUINELY FUNNY.

Get a DP, do LOTS of rewrites on your scripts and raise your production value and you guys could be contenders with a nice looking film. Right now you;re just the funny guys running around with the camera.

Do us all a favor and be the funny filmmakers. We'll all be rooting for you, you can trust that one.

This film rules. That is all.

I keep hearing about all of the comedy in this fest, but this is the first time I actually laughed:

"My friend here lost something. I believe you have it."

It's definitely worth your time to tighten up your act, and get better. Please enter next fest and challenge yourselves to add in some elements.

But the set-up is so very nice, one friend who takes everything to extremes. All of the lost references, fun fun stuff.

Got some chuckles out of me. You went out and shot something.

There were some things that bothered me. I couldn't understand some of the dialogue during the phone conversation. The zoom in from the wide shot when they were burying the body was kind of campy but if that's what you were going for...

This is one of those things that just is what it is, and that's not a bad thing. It was a fun ride. Not Oscar material but that's okay because it looks like you guys had fun making it.

Kind of hard to ignore the funny isn't it? Really makes you want to see more and better stuff from these guys.

Puck, I have been waiting for your review.

Truth be told ... I don't know if I can be funny again, or if I try how funny it will really be - it sort of feels like a fluke at this point haha. I AM taking this to heart though, I'll stop spending $0 on my films and actually invest some more effort to really go above and beyond. I'll get something that's enjoyable because its good not just because of its absurdity.

Dont... lose hope. (I'll stop now.)

When does that weird voice thing happen exactly?
I'll watch it over and see whats up.

What can I say Robbie, we are not actors  Always room for improvement. Thanks for your comments.

I'm not sure if I should fell honored or say "Nee" to you.

Will do! I'll clean myself up and really try to bring it together for the future.

Wow, how many beers were in you before getting to this entry?
No, I'm honored that I made you laugh. I will certainly be back for the next fest Mark and hopefully from everyone's comments I'll improve and have something to show for myself.

You guys are nuts. I see I made your quote wall .

Don;t worry, you CAN be funny again. It's just a matter of taking that absurdity and designing it to be more absurd or just beautifully absurd. You have a great knack for it, so play with it, shoot it for practice, see what works, and then go shoot it for real. You don't have to spend a ton of money just to have a well designed film. By all means, do so: get some good lighting, a DP who knows how to shoot comedy, and some actors (get the pretty ones, but keep your focus on the people who are REAL, the ones we can relate to), and you'll find yourself being constantly surprised. When you let a good actor go crazy with it, it's amazing some of the awesomeness you'll be able to capture.

This was very funny, I lost it when he punched the guy at the car. I scanned some of the comments and I agree with the consensus, you have some great filmmaking sensibilities, take the production level up a notch and I bet we see some amazing things out of you guys, I can't wait for it!

HA hA! This is the film I wanted to make. Thank you for doing it. It looked like a lot of fun. My favorite part was the car-jack. Hilarious. Maybe some more punches next time? :)

Keep it up.

This was great... my favorite line was " you cant lose your heart you need that to..... live "

This comedy grabs you by the shorts and keeps on pulling!

Keep up the good work.
