-The Things Between Us a film by Eric Meisner-

Nice. I guess the thread name threw me (you changed the name of the film?). Looks good, but let me ask, on my monitor a couple of your grabs look really gold in color. Is that a 'look' you were going for? If so, how will that work with the other grabs (more neutral & B/W)?

I was toying with the idea of some of the flashback sequences being in B/W but I think i'm going to keep everything color because they turned out to be very vibrant. As for the gold colors, the color theme is simply put blue at the beginning then warming the picture up at the end. Right now I'm working it in FCP's Color and reading the Apple pro series book in conjunction.

I'm pretty happy with the colors that I achieved in Camera and won't deviant too much from original.

UPDATE!!!!

Just got the Music Back from Herman and it. Is. Awesome. I will probably upload tomorrow....
Oh yeah...

I feel like I'm being ganged up on... :crybaby:

Good to see you on here Starkey!

I'm actually working on finalizing some simple effects shots. But we should be good...just close to the deadline as usual. Meisner is just an editing fool! He works around the clock amped up on Monster energy drinks (and some say "other" substances)...

I guess I should probably get back to work rather than sit here reading other peoples threads! Peace!

Piatt

Yep

Yep

Yep, I'm on here, looking for cool stuff to watch, when can I see yours Meisner?

Oh, you too Piatt. I guess, lol.

I'm sure the two of you put together some great projects like always.

Posting this in both the 'placebo' and the 'things between us' forums lol

Alright guys, watched both Placebo and The Things Between Us.

First off between the two of you Justin Arnold is gonna be a star, lol. Just keep putting him in everything you do.

Who knows, if I can get him down to my neck of the woods, he might be a regular player in 3 Texas Filmmaker Troupe's.

Second I'm gonna start calling Piatt the Michael Bay of DVX User and mean it in a good way. Each film gets amped up a little more and a little more.

When's the feature length film coming?

And Meisner, if Piatt's Michael Bay I'm gonna have to call you the Godard of DVX User. An intimate story well told, well acted, well framed.

Heartbreaking and sincere, great job buddy.

Great job to both of you!

Jake

this was beautifully rendered. lead actress was stellar, just amazing. i admire your eye for light.

minor, minor, minor thought is that occasionally i wasn't convinced the emotion was totally earned and the dialogue a bit too on the nose, but the film was made in earnest and I respect that immensely. thanks for sharing.

I felt very much like Zak on this one. I felt that all of the performers were great, but the female lead really shined. I also agree that light was used extremely well and the film encompassed a very pleasant color palette. Most people would have desaturated and contrasted the hell out of the film, so I really enjoyed your approach.

I agree that at times, the film risked running a bit melodramatic and squeaking out a range of emotions that almost did not get even time for development. But you all pulled through and made an enjoyable, truly heart-felt piece.

It's very late so my comment might not be as strong as I'd like it to be. I'll return to this in the morning and see if I can add more. Regardless, very strong film!
