Troubles importing cards to fcp

I have successfully gotten the camera to mount to my laptop via 1394 cable. i have downloaded latest p2 drivers from panasonic. when i go to import, i do not see a choice concerning p2 media in that menu. pls. advise.

If it is FCP, then it is log and transfer in version 6.0.5.

You can NOT Log and Capture from P2. Log and Capture is for DV only. You need to use the Log and Transfer feature that should be right below Log and Capture if you're using 6.0.3.

im having the same problem. i Tried log and capture and the clip would play but when i would click capture it would have an error. can you explain the correct way to log and transfer clips if your hvx is plugged into laptop using fcp?please. i would greatly appreciate it. Is it possible to import the clips into final cut pro by just connecting the camera and using log and transfer? i wouldn't need a program like raylight or anything? thanks. sorry for the many questions

You copy the files from the camera to the hard drive, then use log and transfer. Raylight is used in place of log and transfer and offfers a better work flow, see
