Loss Fest 2009 - Submission Status

I would hope there are more than 30...there are 110 film threads started. The last two fests had 68-70 entries.

In case you guys haven't recognized the pattern.

Fall = Dark Fiction / Horror
Winter/Spring = Humanist / Less Genre-y / Character
Spring/Summer = Fun/Popcorn/Genre

Also, people are just busy this time of year. It seems to go
FALL - itching to do something all Summer.
SPRING - man I'm got my fill in Fall, plus I'm dealing with .... whatever.
SUMMER - why the hell didn't I do anything for SPRING DVXfest. Definately entering in June.

Loss Fest is in keeping with Drama Fest and Love fest in Spring. No, the numbers aren't as big as Horror Fall or Popcorn Summer, but ratio of quality work to noise is high and it's probably responsible for the most growth in the members fest to fest. So we'll keep serving the vegetables in spring along with the junk food in Fall and Summer.

Plus remember Zak peed on himself when we announced Loss Fest. :) Some members patiently wait it out while we run around blowing up things to really dig into the spring fest and make some amazing work.
 
You can still pretty much do anything genre in any fest. Ya just gotta be creative. As long you don't do a full frontal male nudity required element, I'm in for whatever.:beer:
 
i'm getting ever-so close -- just gotta cut out a tiny bit more...arrrggg!!
then add one more music cue.
(and shoot a spec commercial this weekend).

Yes, but the activity within those threads speaks volumes. There are always last minute surprise entries, but not 30 or 40 of them.

I don't think we'll get numbers even close to the last few Festivals.

That's alright though, I can take my time during the viewing process. :beer:

I think there are about 21 films uploaded so far... it's still pretty early in the game, so those are pretty good numbers so far.

We're in the process of watching the currently uploaded entries for approval right now.
