"Time In A Bottle"- A film by Robbie and Kegan

Ah and our sound guy joins DVXuser! Yes, I completely forgot to mention the toque mics. That was a fantastic idea.

It's starting to shape up rather nicely and as I said, I'm looking forward to shooting again next week. Hopefully on a nice day too.

Here's a still grab from the film that I'm working in terms of depth:

Hey man looks like things are really rolling along nicely for you here! Glad to hear it! I can't wait to see this entry! I'm curious about how you added depth. Are you using AE?

Ya, I used the Lens Blur effect on the footage. Then, on the layer I had it precomposed with a ramp in it controlling where the depth is :)

A little bit of roto work around the talent on the right as well.

Robbie

Hey the screen grabs look great! Lossfest is going to have alot of amazing films! I really like the image you guys decided for the young girl.

I did this for my very first DVX film years ago. I rotoed all the red umbrella scenes in my silent zombie joint. Took like 4 days of moving points around the mask.

Just quickly checking in - now TODAY was a horrible day to shoot. I have to admit, it was ridiculous. I mean, this was short but the drop in temperature more than made up for it. I couldn't imagine shooting a full day at -25 degrees celcius.

Anyway, we sat down and came out with a rough cut tonight - it's going to be tight, but I have no doubt we're going to make it in on time.

I'm going to do a more full write-up of the two collective shooting days and post back once my fingers dethaw.

congrats on wrapping guys. it LOOKED like such a great day for a shoot too and I considered calling my actors down to do a pickup shot... once I got outside... OH MY GOD WHERE THE HELL DOES THE WIND CHILL COME FROM?

I had to go back inside. Kudos to you guys for braving it and sticking it out for so long. Betcha didn;t get the handwarmers, right?

Thanks guy!

Nailed a final cut to 3:30. (With some sound design touches I still need to do)

Anyway, I sent it out to the Composer, Herman, and all I can say is this...

IT IS ALL UP TO HIM NOW!

I think the score will help sell this piece ALOT better.

Robbie

Thanks Sarah.

The film is pretty short, so I'm not sure If I can fit in your song anywhere :(

However, in the future I intend on making a music video using clips from the film :)

Robbie

Oh no worries dude - it's cool! Any day I'm forced to write a song is a good one!
But thanks for the suggestion Michael!! Maybe I can have my own cut with 3 min long credits? :)

Yea, I may end up using some of the song for the end credits. Although there pretty quick.

Maybe another version!

Robbie
