Now I really am sending my camera back (Dust in the internal lens)

I filmed alot of footage today, got home, and kept noticing this one flicker of dust in the lower center of the screen that just would not go away, cleaned it, nothing, cleaned it again... nothing, so i finally got to looking, and pinpointed it,

its a small speck of dust, or maybe a blip in the glass itself, thats inside the lens, not some place i can get too...

So sadly, i will call panasonic, have this all sorted out, hopefully get it back in time for shooting a webisode next weekend....

that sucks man, sorry to hear that. don't let this bad first experience discourage you... it really is an amazing camera. let us know when you get the next one and how it goes
 
atleast it's a (most likely) manufacturing defect.

after getting my camera, and exactly 36 seconds into shooting my first footage of my 3 year old, she grabbed a twig off the ground and stabbed at my lens before i could react...but luckily, just a smudge...it cleaned up fine, but man...the instant i noticed what she did, i was having regrets. not about having the camera.

i am being fececious(sic?) of course ;-)
 
I think Ive got some dust particles on /in m lens to.
I notice it when I pan near bright light sources . When I zoom in a bit it disappears. at first I thought " hey that's some nice looking lensflares , but I think I might be wrong.

And I have cleaned it a couple of times with a lens cleaner but it 's still there. Sending it back is not an option for me but Its the first time Ive had this happen with any cam Ive owned or "rented that was brand new". I hope Panasonic and most likely others find a way to keep things clean and tidy during the manufacturing proces. Make that extremely clean.

yeah thats my problem too... the dust in the lens only at higher apertures,a nd once i zoom in they are gone...

And im completely not losing faith in the camera, =i love it, its awesoem...

I just have to wait a week or two to se her again
 
Alright,

back from the Qwik Pack and Ship, the guy had to tear the package out of my arms... cost me altogether with $3K insurance--$58 (that includes faxing them proof of purchase)

I called panasonic before i sent the package to try and figure out why they wouldn't pay for shipping, the guy was wicked nice, joked around a bit, mentioned reading my email, and told me basically because of the encomny, they do a 50/50 where you pay to get it there, they pay to send it back, i can understand that


So she won't get there till thursday, and add 3-5 days to that, and then sending back... im looking at two weeks without her...


I will be strong Everts... :'(
 
Hope Panasonic gets it sorted out right quick. My HMC should be arriving next week Thursday and I hope I don't encounter the same problem(sold my HV30 and A1).
 
maybe come back with bigger sensors and an interchangable lens. A bionic camera. Kind of like if the wife went out and came back with a bigger rack or something.


When you get it back.. do something glorious with it!

called panasonic today, talked to the manager(thats what they told me :D) of the Kansas Service Center ...

Just to talk to someone, make sure everything is fine... It seems as though not alot of cameras were in cause i jsut said my name and they seem like im a cloe friend, they know me... cause maybe im the only camera there... lol

it had gotten there the day before,a dn they are in the process of checking her out (the camera)

She said itll be shipped back second day air... which is nice instead of the 4 day wait it could have been
