720p24 59.94 FCP 6 Question

I had a question about ingesting 720p24 footage in FCP 6. When I import the XMF or QT files from the FS-100 using the log and transfer window with the a/v settings>capture presets set to 720p24 and the box named "remove advanced pulldown and/or duplicate frames" is checked I'm still getting the clips at 59.94 as the video rate column in the browser reflects- "58.94 fps". The settings on the camera sure seem correct to me, record setup > DVCPro HD 720p24 and Frame Rate > default

I would like the option of editing in a 23.98 timeline versus a 59.94 if I could.

What gives? Any ideas? :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Thanks!

More importantly, what format did you SHOOT? Did you shoot 720p24...or 720p24 24PN? Was the frame rate set to 60, or 24? If you wanted 23.98, then you needed to set the frame rate to 24, and the shoot format to 720p24PN.

You can check in FCP by looking in the Log and Transfer window, right click on any of the columns and add the Vid Rate and Format columns to check what format/frame rate you actually recorded on.

Also you might still be able to get 24p footage if you recorded 720/60p by downloading the free panasonic frame rate converter for fcp:
http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/fcphd.asp

it should let you convert 60p footage to 24p.
